GWKL: IN REVIEW
SINCE 2016, GWKL HAS BEEN AN ENERGISING, MULTI-DISCIPLINARY PRESENCE IN CREATIVITY.
GWKL launched in 2016 to become a celebrated annual cultural marquee that connects with creativity, local and global. The GWKL programme consistently stresses multi-disciplinary feature, covering: art, craft, design, architecture and numerous related topics emphasising also, their inter-relationship. Based on the belief that developing appreciation should be through free and accessible programming, the GWKL events are for the public and mostly free, including the anchor Luminary Programme.
The vision of Founder, Shalini Ganendra, and key collaborators including: galleries, institutions (Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia; National Art Gallery Malaysia), hotels (Majestic Hotel) and gourmet (Marini's Group)- highlights the power of collective delivery to showcase creativity throughout quality venues in Kuala Lumpur. GWKL continues to grow, bringing appreciation of creativity in all its forms to audiences everywhere, strengthening connection and understanding. Pioneering Culture and Mapping the Multi-discipline have been key mantras of the marquee, shown by the programme content, where an electic and stunning series of events present thoughtful and memorable engagement.
